19-year-old's murder after Independence Day 2021 remains unsolved

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is seeking additional information regarding an unsolved murder of a 19-year-old boy after the Fourth of July in 2021.
On July 5, 2021, police responded to a shooting at 12:20 a.m. at the 1000 block of East Whittier Street. Officers arrived and were directed to the 1100 block of Wilson Avenue nearby and did not find a shooting victim.
Police learned that 19-year-old Sincere Akers was dropped off at Nationwide Children's Hospital at 12:29 a.m. after being shot. Akers was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:13 a.m. This was ruled as the 105th homicide in Columbus that year.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that could lead to an arrest of a suspect in Akers' death. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477. All tips are anonymous.
