Man arrested for allegedly stabbing, killing man on Steel Bridge
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Portland police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing and killing another man on the Steel Bridge Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the stabbing report involving a pedestrian on the bridge and found a man with serious injuries.
The man was taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries, authorities say.
On Saturday morning, officers responded to a report of a man threatening another man with a knife near Northwest 3rd Avenue and Northwest Davis Street. When officers arrived, they found a man matching the description and detained him, authorities say.
On further investigation, officers say they determined that the suspect in the case, 31-year-old Noor Baheej, was connected to the fatal stabbing the day before.
Baheej was then taken into custody on charges of second-degree manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon and disorderly conduct.
No other information, including the identity of the stabbing victim, has been released at this time.
