Troy man detained for illegally possessing a firearm
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Richawn McClain, 25, of Troy, was detained on an indictment accusing him of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. If found guilty, McClain faces a mandatory prison term of at least five years to life in prison.
According to the indictment, McClain unlawfully possessed a firearm as a previously convicted felon. The gun, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, had been modified into a machine gun.
The indictment also accuses McClain of possessing a cocaine-fentanyl mixture and over 900 oxycodone pills. McClain reportedly intended to sell the drugs.
