Apply now for the Summer Youth Employment Program

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Warren County Department of Workforce Development is now accepting pre-applications for the Summer Youth Employment Program. The program trains youth between 14 and 20 and teaches them skills needed to succeed in the workforce.

Hired youth will be assigned to work at businesses and organizations around Warren County for around 8 weeks beginning in late June. Participants will also receive employment counseling and educational materials.

There are family income guidelines to qualify for the program. Youth will earn $15 per hour.

"The Summer Youth Employment Program is a great opportunity for youth to participate in meaningful work experience to better prepare them for a future in our workforce," said Andrea Kinderman, Youth Counselor for Warren County Workforce Development. "In addition to the foundational employability skills that they gain, they also connect with positive adult role models, learn financial literacy, and explore career opportunities throughout Warren County.”
