Alexander Afenyo Markin, the Majority Leader of Parliament has opined that the punishment for anyone convicted of LGBTQ is too harsh. On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Parliament passed a controversial bill that imposes a prison sentence of up to three years for anyone convicted of LGBTQ and up to five years for forming or funding LGBTQ groups.
