Free Narcan training available in Saratoga County

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Department of Health is offering free Narcan training and distribution on Saturday, March 23. The training is part of the county's Health and Safety Day event, held at the Clifton Park Center Mall from noon to 3 p.m.

Participants will learn how to recognize an overdose and administer Narcan. All participants will receive a free Narcan kit upon completion. Rescue kits include two doses of Narcan, a rescue breathing face shield, a certificate of training, a drug disposal system, and a mental health and substance use disorder resource guide.

In addition to the Narcan training, Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS will provide first-aid demonstrations and information about CPR. This event is in partnership with the Saratoga County Department of Health, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS, the Town of Clifton Park, and the Clifton Park Center Mall.
