Jury indicts Saranac Lake woman for murder

INDIAN LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Saranac Lake woman has been indicted for the murder of David Chenier of Indian Lake. Ann Favro will be arraigned on Thursday afternoon for murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Police responded to Big Brook Road in Indian Lake for a report of shots fired on the evening of August 12. They located Chenier deceased.

The arrest was made on August 13, 2023. Favro was taken into custody following a traffic stop.

An autopsy conducted at Glens Falls Hospital on August 14 confirmed the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the chest and neck, and the manner of death was officially ruled as a homicide. 

According to Hamilton County District Attorney Marsha Purdue, this is the first murder in Hamilton County in over 25 years.
