I’m an amateur gardener but people love my cheap tip – I spent $3 at Dollar Tree and had fresh-cut flowers all summer
GETTING endless bouquets on a budget has never been easier thanks to a discount store deal.
A gardening novice had beginner’s luck with a cheap tip that had her smelling roses all summer long.
Before Ashley (@ashnich9) put her green thumb to the test, she saved some green by shopping at Dollar Tree.
In her quest to get her own blossoming backyard, she purchased a dozen flower seed packets for $3.
She may have been an “amateur gardener,” but she knew that the 25-cent packs were a smart buy.
Ashley chose a variety of blooms, ranging from snapdragon and marigold to cosmos.
After planting her purchases, she soon had her own bed of fresh, multi-colored flowers.
The beginner gardener’s success inspired her to share her tips.
Ashley simply sprinkled the seeds before covering them with a thin layer of soil and then watering them two to three times a week.
Judging by the looks of things, she could certainly fool others into believing that she was a longtime gardening guru.
She couldn’t believe that she got “fresh-cut flowers for a solid three months for $3 total.”
Ashley ensured she had bouquets all over her home for months on end by picking some of the pink, orange, and yellow blooms and putting them in glass vases.
According to the garden store Eden Brothers, the snapdragon is a popular summer flower to plant due to its sweet fragrance and versatility.
Depending on the variety, the blooms can range in height from eight inches high to almost three feet tall.
Ashley’s fans were certainly impressed with her frugal floral tips.
