Rajasthan Royals open their IPL 2024 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants in Jaipur.
Jaipur: The fourth encounter in the ongoing Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants was halted for a brief period on Sunday after one of spider cam’s wire broke and fell on the ground at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The incident took place just after two balls with Rajasthan Royals openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler at the crease.
Soon after the incident, the groundsmen and the technical officials entered the ground to collected the wire and remove it. Play resumed after the ground was cleared. Earlier, Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first against the KL Rahul-led side.

Rajasthan, who were the 2022 finalists and 2008 champions, are playing with three overseas players in Jos Buttler, Trent Boult and Shimron Hetmyer. Meanwhile, India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul returned from a quadricep injury to lead LSG and is also keeping for the side.
Rahul, at the toss also jokes about his injuries in recent times. “I’m happy to be back on the field, injury has become my best friend over the last couple of years, but it makes you hungry and perform much better when you’re back,” he said.
Meanwhile, Samson stated Royan Parag will play at No.4 and hard-hitting Rovman Powell could come in as an impact player.
