'Shocked': Condolences pour in after former Senator Joe Lieberman dies from fall

Former Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman has reportedly passed away, and politicians and experts were quick to give condolences.

Lieberman, who as previously connected to the "No Labels" third-party movement, died due to complications following a fall, according to a report.

"BREAKING NEWS: Former Sen. Joe Lieberman has died at 82," Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News said on Wednesday. "The Stamford, Conn., native died from complications from a fall, his family said."

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) said Lieberman "endorsed me when I was 25 years old, running for local office, over 18 years ago."

"My condolences to his entire family. I will remember our many conversations," Moskowitz wrote.

From Trump administration official Alyssa Farah Griffin said, "R.I.P. to Joe Lieberman, a true American statesman."

Norm Ornstein, emeritus scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, said he was close to Lieberman and his wife when he was in the Senate, "even if we had deep policy differences."

"I disagreed sharply with his post-Senate No Labels involvement, but I deeply respected his faith and decency. So sad for this loss. May his memory be a blessing."

Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat, said Connecticut "is shocked" by the sudden passing.
