Venkatesh Iyer scored fifty runs, while Phil Salt and Sunil Narine provided a strong start for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they secured a 7-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
In the earlier innings, Virat Kohli continued his impressive form with an unbeaten 83 runs, helping RCB reach a total of 182/6 after Kolkata won the toss and chose to bowl first. Harshit Rana and Andre Russell stood out among the bowlers, each taking two wickets for KKR.
RCB has faced challenges in establishing a winning strategy at home over the years. Despite a shaky start in the top order, Kohli’s strong performance guided the team through, with support from a crucial cameo by Dinesh Karthik leading them to victory earlier in the week against Punjab Kings.
