Authorities continue search for missing Breaux Bridge man
ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office is still searching for the missing Breaux Bridge man.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ronald Batiste was last seen Saturday in Henderson and officials are searching for any clues to where he may be. News 10 spoke to a few family members who said it has been a difficult time for the family.
Kunkeisha Alexander, Batiste's cousin, says the family quickly notified the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office after learning Batiste fell into the water while fishing with a friend on Saturday evening, prompting a search.
"He was fishing with his friend, they did describe that they did see him fall into the water. After that, he disappeared and they didn't see him anymore," Alexander explained.
Authorities have been tirelessly searching for Batiste, but as of now, there have been no sightings. Peter Batiste, Ronald's uncle, says the heavy waves of the water have made locating Ronald even more difficult.
"All that current, it's very hard because he's not gonna stay in one spot, he's gonna move," said Peter.
Peter offers advice to families to never take your loved ones for granted.
"Tell them that you love them, don't wait until something happen and y'all all have to come together. Keep that a daily basis," said Peter.
The family says they are hopeful that Ronald will be found.
