Double M hosting first-ever 'Halfway to Halloween' event

MALTA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Double M Haunted Hayrides is hosting its first-ever off-season haunted event called Halfway to Halloween. The event is set for Saturday, May 18.

"Horror and Halloween isn’t just a fall thing for us,” said Dan Barner, Event Manager at Double M. “We live and breathe it all year and now we are going to let our customers and fans live it year-round with us."

The event features an outdoor screening of "Halloween" (2018) with Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. After the movie, attendees can venture into two haunted houses: Miss Edna's Manor and Secret Society.

“We are really excited to bring this new, unique event to Double M,” said Barner. “It will be very immersive with our creatures and monsters watching the movie along with you and then welcoming you into their world in the haunted houses. Get ready!"

Gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Attendees should bring their own blankets and chairs. The concession stand will be open and no outside food and drink will be allowed. The haunted hayride will not be open during the event.

A limited amount of tickets are available. You can buy tickets on the Double M Haunted Hayrides website. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is set for Sunday, May 19. Double M is located at 678 Route 67 in Malta.
