Sri Lanka's cabinet approves amendments to Domestic Violence Act

COLOMBO, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers has approved amending the existing Prevention of Domestic Violence Act and presenting a new bill to Parliament, State Minister of Women and Child Affairs Geetha Kumarasinghe said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at the Presidential Media Center, she said the government has established temporary detention centers for abused women in eight d
