The announcement came a day after the NC fielded prominent tribal leader Mian Altaf as its candidate from this Lok Sabha constituency. The Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, spread across the Pir Panchal mountains in southern Kashmir, is also important for the BJP who recently announced reservation for Paharis who form a major segment of the electorate in this constituency.
