Coronation Street legend Lucy Jo Hudson reveals never-before-seen look at her second job that’s worlds away from acting
CORONATION Street legend Lucy Jo Hudson has revealed her never-before-seen second job.
The soap star, 40, says she has another career that’s worlds away from acting.
The actress, who previously had leading roles in both Corrie and Hollyoaks, has often talked about the struggle to find work between acting gigs.
Now, Lucy-Jo has revealed that she works as a presenter hosting awards ceremonies.
Taking to Instagram she posted a video of herself in action.
Lucy-Jo captioned the short clip with: “A little look into the awards I had the absolute pleasure of Hosting just over a week ago….
“I don’t think it’s something I’ve ever shared with you, that I do this on the side along with spinning my many other plates but I genuinely love it.
“It’s a bit different glamming up and being yourself, rather than playing a character, but both jobs provide me with a script so I’m safe and happy.”
Meanwhile, it comes just months after Lucy-Jo revealed her other “side hustle” of being a travel agent.
She announced the news on Instagram alongside a glamorous photo of herself posing in the women’s loos on a night out.
She said: “In my industry, it’s not easy.
“I could audition for 8 job and get none, yet I could fall into a job next week, or I might not work for 6 months!
“It’s not easy but I continue to push as I love nothing more than acting!
“But while I’m in limbo, I have decided I need a side hustle. Something that will fit around the kids, that I can take on the road when I’m going to London for castings, something I can keep working on while I get an acting role I love.
“And I’ve found the perfect thing! Does anyone else fancy working from home earning an extra income? Watch this space! #LJsTravelClub.”
Lucy-Jo has always worked in the performance industry, having attended the Scala School of Performing Arts in Leeds.
She worked in theatre roles and as a professional dancer before landing the part of Katy Harris in Corrie in 2022.
Lucy-Jo has also appeared in Wild At Heart and, in 2017, the star even won the British Soap Award for Villain Of The Year for her role as Rhiannon Davis in BBC1’s Doctors.
More recently, Lucy-Jo starred as Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks on and off since 2018.
Meanwhile, Lucy-Jo isn’t the first famous face to launch their own multi-level marketing travel business.
In 2021, despite Brits being restricted from travelling due to coronavirus, Danielle Lloyd also dabbled with the ‘side hustle’.
Lucy-Jo’s friend, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison, also runs her own travel company called VickysVacays.
