On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will occur over parts of North America, providing a unique research opportunity to study the Sun and Earth. Scientists will focus on observing the Sun's corona and its effects on Earth's atmosphere. NASA's WB-57 high-altitude research aircraft will capture images of the eclipse from 50,000 feet altitude.
