But one mum has shared a simple way to keep it away for good without lifting a finger.

Anita Birges, from Australia, took to social media to share her nifty cleaning hack she thinks “everyone should know”.

In the clip, she revealed it was perfect for those struggling with mould – especially in small spaces such as clothes drawers in the home.

And the best part?

It’s all about absorbing moisture

Her simple solution is also super budget-friendly too, using two natural products that won’t cost you more than £6.

She said: “Do you have mould in your drawers or in your bedroom? Have I got the best mould prevention hack for you. It’s all about absorbing moisture.”

“All you need to do is get yourself some mega chalk and grab yourself some clove oil.”

She then demonstrated what you have to do to keep mould away.

Anita took a block of the chalk and added a few dabs of the clove oil to it.

She then placed the chalk into the drawer to banish mould.

“The chalk absorbs the moisture and the clove oil prevents the mould coming back,” she added.

Mega chalk can be purchased for as little as £2.00 for a pack of 12 from Hobbycraft. Clove oil can be purchased from Boots for £2.99 for a 10ml bottle.

The NHS states if you have damp and mould in your home you’re more likely to have respiratory problems, respiratory infections, allergies or asthma.

Damp and mould can also affect the immune system.

And it seems the hack really does work as clove oil is known to kill mould spores while chalk absorbs excess condensation in the air.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @miseenplace_au has since gone viral with over 11k likes.
