Dog stolen from Seaside parking lot found dead, police seek culprit

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities are searching for the person responsible for killing a dog that was stolen from a Seaside parking lot on Monday.

The 1-year-old dog, an Australian Shepherd and Labrador Retriever mix, was taken from a car parked outside of Safeway on South Roosevelt Drive just before 5 p.m.

Officials reported the dog's body was discovered the following day near the mainline gate on Lewis and Clark Road.
