Heat postseason tickets on sale Wednesday, including through NBA Finals

0

ATLANTA — The Miami Heat announced Tuesday that postseason tickets will go on sale online Wednesday at noon.

The Heat are assured of at least one home postseason game but will make tickets available for all playoff rounds, including the NBA Finals.

There is a four-ticket limit per purchase per game, with tickets available at Heat.com and Ticketmaster.com.

Potential Heat home play-in games would be April 16 and April 19. The best-of-seven opening round of the playoffs begins April 20. Dates for potential Heat postseason games likely will not be determined until Sunday’s close of the NBA regular season.

According to the team: “Fans that have purchased tickets for any unplayed games will be automatically issued a refund by Ticketmaster, including fees (except UPS and retail pickup fees). If fans purchase tickets at a retail location, they can secure a refund by returning tickets for unplayed games at the same retail location where the tickets were originally purchased.”

The Heat have advanced to at least the Eastern Conference finals the previous two seasons, including last season’s trip to the NBA Finals, where they lost 4-1 to the Denver Nuggets.

As during the regular season, all Heat home postseason games will be mobile-only entry, with tickets accessible via the Heat app, Ticketmaster.com, and/or the Ticketmaster app on a smartphone.

Details are available at HEAT.com/PostseasonTickets.

Rozier working

Heat guard Terry Rozier found himself weighing time off on Tuesday as he deals with the neck spasms that first became an issue before Sunday night’s loss to the Indiana Pacers.

“You don’t want to be too selfish,” he said. “Obviously, I’m feeling a little better. But I still feel kind of limited and I don’t want to get out there and just try to hurt the guys. That’s the main thing.

“But I’m always a guy that if I can play, I’m going to play. So just being in between a little bit of both.”

Rozier believes the issue came from travel and sleeping amid this three-game trip that began with Friday night’s victory over the Houston Rockets.

“My sleeping is better,” he said after sitting out Tuesday morning’s shootaround at State Farm Arena. “So like I said, I’m feeling better.”

Rozier had been on a roll prior to the neck issue, averaging 23.6 points on .494 percent from the field and .571 on 3-pointers over the five games before scoring four points on 2-of-7 shooting against the Pacers.

“You got to listen to your body sometimes,” he said. “You don’t want that to break down. I wouldn’t say it did break down, but just trying to get my body right for these guys so I can get out there and give 100 percent and everything will be alright.”

Gloating time

Assistant coach Caron Butler was among the UConn alumni who gathered for the school’s championship victory over Purdue on Monday night in the NCAA Tournament Final Four finale in Arizona, having flown there immediately after Sunday’s loss in Indiana. He re-joined the team in Atlanta in time for Tuesday morning’s shootaround.

“We’re happy with the back-to-back. It was amazing,” he said of the Huskies’ consecutive titles. “It was great to be there again for the second year. I think the biggest thing from the messaging standpoint was no complacency.”

Among former UConn players who were with Butler on Monday night was former Heat guard Ray Allen.

“I thought it was special, every player past and present, recent present,” said Butler, who was most taken by the appearance of 81-year-old former UConn coach Jim Calhoun.

So next having to borrow the Three-Peat catchphrase of Heat President Pat Riley?

“We got to use that next year,” Butler said.

There also was time taken Tuesday morning for gloating against the Heat’s Kentucky faction of Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, as well as against Marquette product Jimmy Butler.

“I’m not saying much,” Butler, 44, said. “I’m just letting the numbers speak for themselves. I’m not saying anything. I saw Bam this morning, I just looked at him and smiled. He knows what it is. Tyler, looked at him, smiled. Jimmy, he knows what it is. They know what it is.”
