Three open seats on Albany Public Library Board of Trustees

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Public Library Board of Trustees announced they will seek to fill three open seats on the board in the upcoming May 21 election. Two of the seats are for full five-year terms, while the third seat is for a one-year term.

Residents interested in running for a seat must complete a nominating petition, which can be completed online through the APL website. Petitions must be submitted to the City School District of Albany Clerk by 5 p.m. on May 1.

The two full terms will go to the applicants with the most votes. The applicant with the third-most votes will earn the one-year term.

Albany Public Library will be hosting information sessions leading up to the submission deadline for anyone interested in running. The forums will discuss the board's work and goals, as well as the nomination process.

• April 10: Arbor Hill/West Hill Branch - 148 Henry Johnson Boulevard, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• April 13: Pine Hills Branch - 517 Western Avenue, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
