Michaela Jaé Rodriguez Goes Demure in Versace Ribbon Shoes for Canneseries International Festival

Actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez stepped out in Cannes with a classic black pump, gone demure with a ribbon bow as embellishment. The star is in France for the Cannes International Series Festival and made multiple appearances on the carpets for day five of the event.

A staple of women’s closets, the black pump has been out in force particularly in a pointed-toe variety. Over the past few weeks, names like Heidi Klum, Zoe Saldana and Sofia Boutella have all worn them. Boutella chose the trend for her turn on the red carpet for “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” on April 4, with a pair of pumps that featured a unique cutout design at the vamp.

A star of Apple TV+’s “Loot,” Rodriguez is attending the Cannes International Series Festival often called the Canneseries. That event is an international television festival that has been held in Cannes, France since 2018.

About the shoe

Rodriguez’s shoe is a classic black pump with a twist. From Versace, the shoe features a sharp, pointed toe. In addition, on the vamp of the style sits a ribbon bow. The bow includes the trademark Medusa logo as hardware. The Medusa logo is also on the underside of the shoe’s instep.

The calf leather heel sits at 4.3 inches high due to a stiletto heel. Versace is selling the Gianni Ribbon Pumps for $895.

Pumps are in no way new to Rodriguez. She wore a pair of them at the “Transformers” premiere in 2023. Rodriguez often tends toward minimalism when it comes to footwear, going with tried and true stiletto-heeled styles from brands like Christian Louboutin and Stuart Weitzman. When she’s not on the red-carpet she is often spotted in sneakers.
