Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Tuesday, April 9.

Softball

Havre de Grace 6, Harford Tech 2: The Warriors broke open a tie game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, Bayleigh Carstetter and Kinsey Mentzer had RBI triples in the rally. Lilly Dalton and Sarah Weitzel also drove in runs in the inning. Weitzel and Dalton split time in the circle, combining on a six-hitter.

Patterson Mill 10, C. Milton Wright 2: Audrey March’s two-run single highlighted a five-run third inning as the Huskies broke away from the Mustangs. March finished with four RBIs on the day. Kaylyn Pulket went 4-for-4 with an RBI. Kenzie Knight had two hits and two RBIs.

Sparrows Point 15, Lansdowne 5: Chloe Fields and Allie Roberts each homered for the Pointers, with Fields driving in four runs and Roberts two. Maddy Lunner finished with three RBIs, Abby Sies had two hits and two RBIs and L Miller also drove in a pair.

Liberty 6, Westminster 0: Sophia Steele pitched one of her best games of the season, a five-hit shutout with four strikeouts. Offensively, Kaelin Ault went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Erin Martin, Evelyn Connor and Hannah DeVincent all had two hits with RBIs. Allison Bald and Maria Haney drove in runs and Leyla Hoffman singled twice.

Baseball

Patterson Mill 2, South River 0: Travis Loewe shut down the host Seahawks, throwing a five-hitter with three strikeouts. The Huskies only totaled five hits themselves but made the most of them. Noah Thomas hit an RBI single in the fourth and Brycen Hunter had one of his own in the sixth.

Lansdowne 23, Carver A&T 0: The Vikings scored 14 runs in the first inning. Matt O’Donnell homered and drove in four runs. Sean Lippman also drove in four. David Eastlake, Justin White and Ian Patterson each drove in two.

Pikesville 4, Hereford 2: The Panthers scored three in the top of the seventh to overtake the Bulls. Jackson Roemer tied the game on an RBI groundout, then Jack Millman singled home the winning runs. Issac Garonzik and Michael Payne combined to throw a three-hitter.

Liberty 5, Westminster 0: Liberty won its fourth county game in five days, thanks in part to a gem on the mound from C Shanks. Shanks threw a four-hit shutout, striking out four and walking one. Shanks also drove in a run. Rylan Palle had two hits and an RBI to lead the offense, while Nate Martin also collected an RBI.

Reservoir 7, Hammond 2: Sebastian Fuentes pitched 5 ⅔ innings of one-hit ball, striking out 10. He helped his own cause with a two-run double early in the game. Blake Smoot went 3-for-4 at the plate and pitched a scoreless seventh inning to close out the win.

Boys’ Latin 6. Severn 2: The visiting Admirals (4-5) outhit the Lakers (7-2), 7-6, but stranded nine runners. Boys’ Latin has won six straight and will travel to St. Paul’s on Thursday. Severn will host Gerstell on Thursday.

Broadneck 14, Arundel 0: Mike Swick set the tone with a home run on the first pitch of the game, while Devin McGowan and Avik Cherry also drove in runs in the first inning. Broadneck put the game out of reach with eight runs in the third inning. Nick Cicale, McGoward and Nate Schilling each finished with two RBIs. Noah Forman earned his fourth win of the year on the mound.

Girls lacrosse

Aberdeen 12, Bo Manor 7: Jenna Stevens poured in eight goals to lead Aberdeen to the win. Lauren Miranda added two goals, while Amanda Wang and Jordan Dawson also scored. Annie Huettel collected five draw controls.

Century 19, Winters Mill 2: Natalie Opatovsky poured in four goals and Delaney Sandbank totaled eight points, evenly split between four goals and four assists to lead the Knights. Marley Carfine and Harli Hamlett each netted hat tricks in the win.

Boys lacrosse

Towson 18, Perry Hall 5: The Generals spread out the scoring between 12 players in the big win. Ansen Park had a team-high four goals to go with an assist. Alex Tyler totaled six points, evenly split between three goals and three assists. Brody Donovan added a pair of goals. Connor Parks, Hudson Arrup, Jackson Kanzler, Luke Richardson, Fisher Putnam, Blake Katz, Lucas Westerkamp, Noah Vanik and Max Kosmides all scored.

McDonogh 16, St. Mary’s 5: The host Eagles (7-1, 3-0 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) used a 10-2 surge in the second half to pull away from the Saints (3-8, 0-3). McDonogh was led by Brendan Millon (3 goals, 2 assists), Luke Miller (3 goals, 1 assist) and Ben Firllie (3 goals).

Boys’ Latin 14, John Carroll 6: The visiting Lakers (7-1, 3-0 MIAA A Conference) led with an 11-0 run and beat the Patriots (3-4, 1-2). Matthew Higgins had a game-high four goals for Boys’ Latin. Ryan Kelly and Spencer Ford each scored twice for the Lakers. The victory was the third straight. Friday, Boys’ Latin travels to Loyola Blakefield.

Mount St. Joseph 13, St. Paul’s 9: The visiting Gaels (7-2, 1-1 MIAA A Conference) beat the Crusaders (5-3, 1-2). Mount St. Joseph has won two games since falling to Loyola Blakefield, 13-9, on April 2.

Calvert Hall 12, Severn 7: The host Cardinals (5-4, 2-1 MIAA A Conference) beat the Admirals (4-7, 0-3). Calvert Hall has won three of its past five games.

Coed tennis

Fallston 6, Bel Air 5: The Cougars won three matches in third-set tiebreakers, which ultimately decided their match against the Bobcats. Jesse Kilian at first boys singles, Juliana Kovalets at first girls singles and the first girls doubles team of Meghan Perez and Camryn Barrett all won tiebreakers. Gordon Lefkowitz added a win at No. 3 boys singles and doubles wins came from the first boys team of Ryan Blair and Colby Resh, and the second girls team of Kasey Resh and Ashley Tran.
