One injured in Caroga Lake house fire

CAROGA LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Multiple crews responded to a structure fire in Caroga Lake on Monday, according to the Fulton County Emergency Management Office. The fire broke out around 3:14 a.m. at a house on Morey Road.

Following the report of an explosion on the road, firefighters arriving to the scene located multiple occupants that had evacuated from the home. Crews reportedly found that the fire quickly developed to be fully involved, leading to additional companies being called in.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze by 7:30 a.m., with investigators remaining in the area until 2 p.m. One of the house's occupants was tended to on the scene for smoke inhalation before being transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Fulton County Emergency Management Office said that the extensive damage to the house resulted in the building being deemed a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
