Topeka police respond to deadly shooting at Reser's Fine Foods

UPDATE: The Topeka Police Department has identified the shooting victim as 39-year-old Reginald Privett, of Topeka. Police are still investigating.

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Police Department (TPD) is at Reser's Fine Foods on reports of a deadly shooting Thursday afternoon.

The TPD's watch commander confirms police are on scene investigating a shooting at Reser's in east Topeka. One person is confirmed dead following the shooting.

City spokeswoman Rosie Nichols says officers were called just after 4:30 p.m. on April 11 to 3167 SE 10th Street in Topeka at Reser's Fine Foods. Police found a person suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound at the scene who was later pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the shooting is an isolated incident that occurred in the parking lot with no other injuries reported. The identity of the victim will not be released until family can be notified.
