Oakland Athletics outfielder/designated hitter Brent Rooker was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to an injury that he sustained on Sunday.

Rooker is dealing with a costochondral rib cartilage injury. He was hurt in the game against the Detroit Tigers on a checked swing and has missed the last three games, including Thursday's 1-0 road win over the Texas Ranger
