‘Best purchase of 2024’ Home Bargains fans rave about £2 buy that’s perfect for movie marathons
WHAT’S a movie marathon without some snacks and your favourite bevvy?
Well, if your weekend plans include watching a movie – or heading outdoors for camping – you may want to pop down to the nearest Home Bargains store beforehand.
According to super fans of the popular retailer, the discount brand has launched a £2 buy that’s already been dubbed ”the best purchase of 2024” amongst some shoppers.
That’s right, their brand new Snack & Drinking Cup is the bargain you didn’t know you needed – and it will take watching a romcom or catching up on your favourite reality show to the next level.
The versatile container, which sells for £1.99, is designed to hold both beverages and snacks, providing convenience for on-the-go activities.
These cups – which shoppers can choose in a number of lovely colours – are practical solutions for individuals who want the convenience of having both a beverage and snacks in one container.
Home Bargains super fans can snap up the buy in either green, blue, pink or red, and according to the retailer the bargain ”fits in most holders”.
Needless to say, it’s not just the team at Fabulous that’s obsessed with it – the £1.99 product has already gone viral on social media, with people raving about it on TikTok.
One delighted customer, Ashleigh, was so impressed with the brand new addition to the shelves, she urged others to not sleep on it.
”The only thing you need for the weekends, is one of these £1.99 snack cups from @Home Bargains,” the cash-savvy shopper (@ashleighmoneysaver) wrote in the caption of her video.
In the clip, which has won close to 310k views so far, sees Ashleigh showing off the snack up in bright red – but if you want to get your hands one, it’s best to act quick, as there weren’t that many left on the shelves.
Dozens flocked to comments to rave about the £1.99 product, with one writing: ”Perfect for camping.”
Someone else chimed in: ”Granddaughter loves it, crisps in bowl, juice in cup.”
A third penned: ”I’m using mine right now, best purchase in 2024 so far.”
A fourth tagged their pal and said: ”We need these in every colour for our chill days.”
However, not everyone will be scrambling to purchase the cups, as some reckoned they were a total waste of cash.
”Use once then lives in the back of your cupboard forever all for £1:99!” one shopper thought.
”Rubbish,” another also wasn’t impressed with the £1.99 movie essential.
A new store coming your way?
Home Bargains have said they want to add around 400 extra branches to its shop tally as part of major expansion plans.
The beloved discount retailer, which was running 594 locations as of June 2023, said it wanted to “eventually have between 800 and 1,000 retail outlets open”.
The Sun approached Home Bargains to find out the date it plans on reaching its store target but the retailer declined to comment.
