Thyssenkrupp Steel plans to reduce its production capacity to between 9 million and 9.5 million metric tons a year, broadly in line with its shipments over the past three years and cut jobs, in response to challenging market conditions, with weak demand, high energy costs and rising competition from Asia hurting its business.
