Here's Scottie Scheffler's Masters final round plan if his wife goes into labor
As he leads the field at this year’s Masters heading into the final round of play on Sunday, golfer Scottie Scheffler might not get to finish his quest for a second green jacket.
However, it’s for as good of a reason as you could ask. Scheffler’s wife, Meredith, might go into labor to give birth to their first child before Sunday’s final day of competition.
If it happens before tee time on Sunday, Scheffler told Sirius XM’s Jason Sobel on Saturday that he will withdraw from the competition outright. However, if it happens after he starts playing, it sounds as if he’ll finish out The Masters.
Just spoke with Scottie Scheffler and he maintains that if his wife Meredith goes into labor between now and the start of the final round, he’ll withdraw in order to be there for the birth of their first child.

Obviously, that would be a massive shake-up with Scheffler leading all golfers after three days with a 7-under position.
However, family comes first, and an addition to the Scheffler family could lead to the addition of a green jacket for another golfer if things break a certain way.
