Seattle looks for their first series win of 2024 against the Cubs
They say the first million is the hardest to make, and for the Mariners, the first series win has been the hardest to come by. They’ll look for it today against the Cubs.

You will notice a lack of Julio in today’s lineup. There’s no medical issue; he’s just getting a day off to “unplug”, per Servais. While he could theoretically be available for pinch-hitting later, the goal is to get him a full day off. Luke Raley will get a chance to beat the “unathletic big guy” allegations in center field.
Thanks Alex Mayer and Mariners Baseball Info for this tidbit: The opposite of a slow starter, Mitch Haniger has the highest career OPS in the months of March/April (.925 career OPS). In fact, Haniger has homered in the last three April 14 games he has played in. Will he continue the streak this year?
