Crews respond to small electrical fire at UAlbany campus
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Firefighters responded to the University at Albany (UAlbany) campus Tuesday morning at the college's performing arts center. Firefighters say a small electrical fire started from a faulty battery pack. It happened around 8 a.m.
No one was injured and there was no significant damage.
"Basically what it was was a faulty battery pack," said Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory.
Jordan Carleo-Evangelist, a spokesperson for UAlbany, says despite the limited damage, the school was going to take the day to clear the smell of smoke from the building. The fire disrupted a few classes.
