Watervliet restaurant opening new location in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Black Bear Inn, located at 310 19th Street in Watervliet, is opening a second location in Albany. The new restaurant will be in the former Fredella's Sports Bar & Restaurant space inside Capital OTB's Clubhouse Racebook at 711 Central Avenue.

The Black Bear Inn has been open in its current location for 19 years, said co-owner Tim Delisle. He runs the restaurant with business partner Joe Skumurski, and their wives June Deliste and Jamie Skumurski.

Delisle said Capital OTB reached out to them about opening up another location in the Clubhouse Racebook. "It just seemed like a great opportunity," Delisle told NEWS10.

The space only needs minor renovations, said Delisle, and they'll be adding more tables. They recently updated the menu for the Black Bear, and the Albany location will have just about the same menu. The menu features wings, salads, burgers, sandwiches, mac m' cheese, and more.

There's no opening timeline yet, but Delisle is hoping to open within the next few months. They are planning for the restaurant to be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, and are hoping to eventually be open on Mondays and Tuesdays as well.

"We're looking forward to expanding in Albany," said Delisle. "We feel that this location will be a natural progression of our business."
