Former Albany man found guilty of sex abuse

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- District Attorney David Soares announced a guilty verdict of a former Albany man on Thursday. Carl Barton, 58, was charged with second-degree criminal sex act and second-degree sex abuse by a jury in Albany County Supreme Court.

It was alleged in November 2020 that Barton engaged in sexual conduct with a person who was unable to give consent because of a mental disability. Barton's sentencing is scheduled for May 31.
