Officials name Westmoreland tornado victim
WESTMORELAND (KSNT) — Officials have identified the person who died in the tornado that hit Westmoreland Tuesday afternoon.
Becky Ryan, Public Information Officer for Pottawatomie County has identified Ann Miller, 58, of Westmoreland as the person who died as a result of the EF3 tornado that hit Westmoreland Tuesday, April 30.
“Ann was the welcoming face of the Health Department for many years. She was a good neighbor and a good friend to everyone. We miss her and will be here to support her family during this difficult time,” Ryan said.
At a news conference Tuesday evening, she confirmed that three Westmoreland residents are being treated for injuries. Pottawatomie County officials say five outbuildings and 22 houses in the north part of Westmoreland are destroyed or deemed “unlivable” and an estimated three RVs were damaged at an RV park. An additional 13 residences and a commercial building were damaged.
