Ochsner Lafayette, Our Lady of Lourdes partners with United Way for health survey
(KLFY)-- Ochsner Lafayette General and Our Lady of Lourdes has partnered with United Way of Acadiana to conduct an assessment that aims to acknowledge feedback and concerns that are related to the community health.
Using the 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment, these entities are looking to gather input from the public about health needs. Those 18 and older are asked to complete a survey by May 20, and from there, the assessment will undergo a review and adoption process by the boards of 10 Ochsner and Lourdes hospitals in Acadiana.
“Together with our partners, through comprehensive data collection and shared expertise, we are identifying opportunities and making strides toward more informed, effective healthcare solutions to ultimately improve health outcomes for everyone we serve,” Ochsner Lafayette General CEO Patrick Gandy said.
“This collaboration champions Ochsner’s values of teamwork, inclusivity and excellence and it exemplifies our commitment to understanding and enhancing the health and well-being of our communities,” Gandy added.
As an essential requirement for nonprofit hospitals made by the IRS, the assessment is designed to gather information for strategic solutions to some medical worries and provide a foundational approach to investments that need to be made in communities.
