Ron Gordon Football Challenge To Take Place Again This Summer!

Supporters will once again have the chance to take part in the Ron Gordon football challenge this summer and raise money for the Hibernian Community Foundation!

The inaugural event last year was an overriding success bringing together the community and the Football Club and raising over £25,000 in the process.

This year the special event, which is held in memory of our late Executive Chairman Ronald J Gordon, will take place on Saturday 22 June at the Hibernian Training Centre.

The challenge hopes to, once again, bring together Hibernian FC supporters, the Community Foundation, and football enthusiasts for a 15-hour non-stop game of football.

The marathon will kick off at 7am and continue until 10pm, welcoming players of all ages and abilities.

Like last year, the matches will include players from the Club’s storied history and potentially some coaches too!

Supporters can book on an hour-slot for just £20, with proceeds from the event will support local charitable initiatives, through the Hibernian Community Foundation, a cause close to Ron’s heart.

Hibernian FC Chief Executive Ben Kensell commented: “Last year’s event was a resounding success raising a significant amount of money for the Hibernian Community Foundation and bringing the Club and the community together exactly like Ron would’ve wanted.

“We have always been passionate about carrying on Ron’s legacy; he was a great man who cared dearly about the role the Football Club plays in the local community.

“This is an event that everyone looks forward to and it’ll be great to see as many people as possible taking part at the Hibernian Training Centre.”
