'I felt for the guy': Legal expert says Eric Trump looked uncomfortable at criminal trial
Eric Trump showed up this week to attend his father's hush money trial, and MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin thinks that the appearance was a calculated effort to demonstrate family solidarity.
"Trump has adjusted his courtroom behavior around criticism that folks in the media have lobbed it him," Rubin stated during an appearance on "Alex Wagner Tonight". "And so bringing additional support to the courtroom is one more of those in the latest call-and-response between the media and Trump about his courtroom strategy."
Eric Trump was seen seated in the first row next to Trump campaign chief Susie Wiles, which marked the first time a member of Trump's family joined him at the trial.
And yet even though Eric was in court to show support for his father, Rubin noticed that he was "looking at times kind of uncomfortable to be discovering some of these documents for the first time himself."

That included an email between Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and attorney Keith Davidson, who represented hush money recipients Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.
Overall, Rubin said it must have been awkward for a son to sit in court and listen to his father's unseemly schemes to cover up multiple affairs he had.
"I really felt for the guy as a son and a family member, having to be the pawn in that political game and the jury; a game that his dad appears to be playing," she said.
