Rite Aid closing in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rite Aid location at 155 Ballston Avenue in Saratoga Springs is set to close. The company has been announcing closures after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year.

The Saratoga Springs closure was announced in a court filing on April 23. As Rite Aid has been periodically announcing the closures, this is the first Capital Region location to be confirmed to be closing.

An employee at the Saratoga Springs location told NEWS10 the pharmacy is closing on May 13 but they did not know when the rest of the store would be closing. The Rite Aid press team did not immediately respond to NEWS10's request for comment.

In total, about 250 Rite Aid stores are set to close so far. The Saratoga Springs location is currently having its final closing sales. The next closest Rite Aid is located at 3027 Route 50 in Wilton.
