Jeanerette home damaged in Wednesday morning fire

JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A home in Jeanerette sustained significant damage in a fire Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Jeanerette Fire Department were dispatched at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a fire in the 500 block of Louisiana Street. The first-arriving engine crew found found heavy black smoke and fire coming from one side of the structure.
The fire was declared under control at 10:54 a.m., and no injuries were reported, officials said.
Jeanerette Police, Iberia Parish Fire District 1, St. Mary Parish Fire District 11 and the Grand Marais Fire Department assisted.
