CT man charged after DEA raids his residence, allegedly finds cocaine, fentanyl and firearm

A man was taken into custody on narcotics and weapons charges after state, local and federal authorities searched his residence in Vernon on Wednesday and allegedly found cocaine and fentanyl as well as a firearm.

Kiejuan Haugabook, 44, was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to sell a narcotic substance and risk of injury to a minor and a single count of operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia, negligent storage of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction, illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine and criminal possession of ammunition, according to the Vernon Police Department.

Police said they worked collaboratively with the East Central Narcotics Task Force and the DEA Diversion Task Force in a narcotics investigation targeting Haugabook’s residence on Ward Street.

They used a search warrant to raid the home Wednesday and reported finding a large amount of cocaine and fentanyl as well as an illegal handgun and a high-capacity magazine, according to police.

Haugabook was held on $750,000 bond following his arrest and was expected to face a judge Thursday in Rockville Superior Court.
