Car crash slides into DPW work zone, injures workers
KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two Kingston DPW employees were injured after a car accident collided with their work zone on Wednesday, May 1. The DPW employees were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the accident is under investigation.
The DPW employees were repairing a catch basin when a red Subaru and gray sedan crashed at the intersection of Ten Broeck Avenue. The two vehicles collided with the work zone and the Subaru hit a DPW cone and truck.
According to police, the driver of the gray sedan was issued a ticket and the DPW employees were transported to HealthAlliance Hospital on Mary's Avenue in Kingston. City officials stressed the importance of slowing down and driving with caution near any roadwork for safety, saying the accident could have been worse.
