Dead motorist identified in East Pinhook crash, road reopened
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – One person was killed in a morning crash in the 700 block of East Pinhook Road in Lafayette.
Parts of E. Pinhook road were closed due to a fatal crash, but the road has been reopened, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Authorities said that when one vehicle was traveling east in the outside lane at the 700 block of E. Pinhook Road, it could have potentially hit the east curb and over corrected and traveled across all lanes on the road.
As the first vehicle was traveling across all the lanes, another vehicle that was going west in the inside lane of the road crashed into the passenger side of the initial vehicle. One motorist, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Stafford of Lafayette, was pronounced dead at the scene.
