Rookie Estes gets the call today

The Oakland Athletics will face the Seattle Mariners in game two of the 3-game series today in Seattle. The A’s hope to rebound after yesterday’s 8-1 loss at T-Mobile Park. Making the start today for Mark Kotsay’s A’s is 22-year-old righty Joey Estes. Estes was recalled today from the AAA Las Vegas Aviators squad. He’s made six starts for Vegas this year with a 2-3 record and a 6.04 ERA. He made two starts for the A’s last year and had an 0-1 record. Estes will face off against 25-year-old righty Bryce Miller. Miller is making his eighth start of the 2024 campaign and enters today with a 3-2 record and a 2.61 ERA.
