Hollywood detention center inmate remains at large after escape last month
Christine Hess, 37, escaped about 10:19 p.m. on April 26 and is still at large, according to a notice on the Department of Corrections website.
A Broward inmate sentenced for robbery and battery escaped from the Hollywood Release Center last month, the Department of Correction reports.
Christine Hess, 37, escaped about 10:19 p.m. on April 26 and is still at large, according to a notice on the Department of Corrections website.
The department is asking anyone with information about Hess’s whereabouts to notify their local law enforcement agency, or call the Department of Corrections at (850) 922-6867.
She was sentenced in Feb. 23, 2021, for aggravated battery with intent to harm, and robbery related to a 2016 stabbing in Parkland.
A 67-year-old man was “bleeding profusely just outside the apartment” and was rushed to the hospital, according to an affidavit. The man reported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office that he knew Hess but was “punched in the face” by a man with Hess who he didn’t know.
While he was struggling with the man, “Hess grabbed a large knife and stabbed him numerous times in the back and leg, and demanded his cell phone,” the affidavit said.
Her profile is on the website WriteAPrisoner.com as someone looking for a pen pal.
“I have made mistakes, but no more,” her profile states. “From now on, I want to find good people and make good choices. I’m 6’2″ tall, slim, mostly legs, and I know how to wrap them tight.”
