iMessage down updates — Thousands of iPhone users struggle to send and receive messages

THOUSANDS of iPhone users struggled to send and receive messages during an apparent iMessage outage on Thursday evening.

Over 14,000 iPhone users reported outages with iMessage just before 6 pm EST, according to Downdetector.

Over 80% of the reported problems were associated with sending messages, while 14% reported issues receiving them.

Users rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to see if they were the only ones experiencing issues with one writing, “So iMessage isn’t working?”

“iMessage taking so long to officially fail to send a message seems like a nationwide point of failure,” another shared.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Apple but did not immediately hear back.
