Hurricanes land commitment from offensive lineman Takaylen Muex
The Hurricanes believe they plucked a diamond from the rough in the Jacksonville area.
Miami secured a commitment from 2025 offensive lineman Takaylen “TK” Muex, a standout lineman from Fletcher High in Neptune Beach on Thursday. Muex announced his commitment via On3Sports.
Muex, who is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports, also has offers from Appalachian State, Louisville and UCF. He is listed as the No. 84 offensive lineman in the 247Sports rankings.
Listed at 6-4 and 340 pounds, Muex projects as an offensive guard similar to current UM starter Anez Cooper. The Hurricanes staff expects him to become a productive offensive lineman as he develops, a source said.
Muex is scheduled to take an official visit to Miami from May 31 to June 2. He also announced an official visit to UCF for later in June.
Muex is currently the only offensive lineman in Miami’s 2025 class. The Hurricanes previously had a commitment from three-star prospect Lamar Williams, but he backed off his pledge on May 9.
