Two injured in crash involving Columbus police cruiser

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two people, including one Columbus police officer, were injured in a crash involving a police cruiser Thursday afternoon. 

Around 2:53 p.m., a crash occurred involving a police cruiser near the intersection of Joyce Avenue and East Fifth Avenue in the Devon Triangle neighborhood, according to the Columbus Division of Police. 

A police officer was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition and another person -- who police did not specify as a driver or passenger in another car -- was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. 

Columbus police stated they do not know what led up to the crash and are still investigating. They have not shared any further updates as of 6:25 p.m.
