'Appreciate Scott lecturing me on Black voters': Bakari Sellers smokes GOP insider on CNN
Republican operative Scott Jennings on Friday went on CNN to accuse Democrats of taking Black voters for granted, but former Democratic South Carolina State Rep. Bakari Sellers was quick to slap him down.
During a discussion on President Joe Biden's newly planned outreach to Black voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Jennings claimed that Black voters were flocking to former President Donald Trump despite his long history of racist rhetoric.
"I mean, this just goes to show you what Democrat Party politics means for Black voters," Jennings said. "They will take your vote for granted. They're not here to persuade you. They're not here to give you ideas. They're here to tell you to shut up and show up that's the strategy of the Democratic Party, but that's why the polls show African American voters, and specifically African-American men, are sick of it and they're gravitating towards Donald Trump."

Jennings further attacked Democrats for questioning the integrity of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito after an upside-down flag was seen outside his house after Trump's defeat in the 2020 election, and he said Democrats were engaging in "character assassination" just as they have in the past with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
This sparked a bemused reaction from Sellers.
"I appreciate Scott lecturing me on what Black voters need and one in this country," he said. "And so I would also let Scott know that many Black voters in particular don't care much for Clarence Thomas and one of the cruelest trick that white folks in this country have ever pulled on Black folks has actually been replacing Justice Thurgood Marshall with Clarence Thomas."
