Report: Club have not heard back from Tottenham yet about summer transfer
According to Bild, RB Leipzig are completely in the dark about whether Tottenham are planning to exercise the option to buy Timo Werner permanently this summer.
While Werner’s arrival in January split opinion among Spurs fans, there is no doubt that he proved a very useful option for Ange Postecoglou in the second half of the campaign, making some key contributions in the final third.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the German international, whose season ended early when he picked up an injury in the North London Derby earlier this month.
RB Leipzig waiting to hear from Tottenham
Bild point out that as things stand, Spurs have not given any indication to Leipzig on whether they plan on activating the €17m (£14.5m) option to buy Werner.
They point out that Ange Postecoglou’s men would have to make a decision on the matter quite soon since the clause expires on June 14.
However, it is revealed that Tottenham have not made contact with the Bundesliga and ‘have not yet reported’ their plans regarding the former Chelsea man, thus leaving Marco Rose’s men in the dark.
Spurs Web Opinion
We are going to need a massive squad next season, given that Ange would want to take the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the Europa League seriously. So I personally see the £15m deal for Werner as decent value for money.
