Ange Postecoglou says internal issues at Spurs ‘haven’t been resolved’ yet
In his latest press conference today, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou touched on the comments he made earlier this week regarding the mentality of the club, and while the issue hasn’t been ‘resolved’ he insists he has not been put off his project.
The past week has been full of uncertainty for Tottenham. First, there was the small matter of taking on Manchester City in a game which Spurs had to win to keep Champions League hopes alive, but had to lose if they wanted to put a dent in Arsenal’s run to the Premier League title.
Then, after the defeat to City, Ange Postecoglou was visibly angry in his post-match press conference (via Football.London) and described the club as ‘fragile’, with reference to the mentality of both the fanbase and those inside the club.
In particular, Postecoglou did not take kindly to a suggestion from one member of his coaching staff that Spurs should field a youth team against City (The Athletic).
Problems not solved yet, but Postecoglou is determined as ever
Speaking to the press (via Sky Sports News), Postecoglou was asked whether the whole situation had been sorted out yet, and he revealed it is too soon to have fixed the issue, but insisted he is still driven to succeed at Spurs.
“No, the inside issues haven’t been resolved in two days,” Postecoglou said.
Then, when asked if this week has made him more determined to turn the team into winners, he replied: “No mate, I’ve been determined to do that from day one, nothing’s changed. I haven’t been deterred, if that’s what people are worried about.”

I would imagine Ange and everyone else at the club are more focused on the task at hand right now — beating Sheffield United and securing fifth place in the table. That said, I am sure Postecoglou will not leave this issue unresolved, and something big will have to change in terms of the attitude of some people at the club, hopefully for the better.
